Thanksgiving 2009

Another Thanksgiving has come and gone. At least the people..Christy remains. Clean up is still in progress by the head chef aka "chief dishwasher" after the meal. I contributed little but receive much, in both a filling meal but also with all the family.. All was here. I know that someday the crowd will get smaller as commitments elsewhere will pull the attendees away. That's life!

Still have about 35 acres to harvest. Not much but 3 fields and a few miles move. Glad it will be over.

Got kicked in the knee by a 700 lbs calf the other day.. Now sore knee to go with sore finger which is beginning to get crooked with a big red knot. Oh well, guess the crooked finger will match the other scars.

The house is decorated with Christmas already. The head decorator, aka Head Chef also known as chief dishwasher. Does a fantastic job on her own. Martha would be jealous. Something simple is simply beautiful, nothing to distract.

Thanksgiving was good.

Still in the field

November has been nice... Hope it stays that awhile more.. Somedays it seems that we cannot get much accomplished and ever once in a few new moons we do get something done...

Still have about 45 acres of corn to harvest and about 250 acres of soybeans... Should finish corn this weekend. Beans who knows...

Well back to the field .

Cattle are a pain

My finger has turned blue... I love the thrill of having your hand smashed by a cow. Cannot understand why they did not want to get into the trailer. Cannot understand why these docile creature would not stay in the fence. Oh well, they are moved.

Didn't really get much corn shelled today because of the cows, about 4000 bushels not a very good day... Might switch to beans again tomorrow. Who Knows might chase the blasted cows again... My hobby Cow Chaser

Either way i can't type very well with a blue finger..
